Andres is a professional drummer and percussionist with over 14 years of experience. He studied Drums and Latin Percussion at the Preparatory School of Music of the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music, and after finishing the program, began graduate studies on Orchestral Percussion at the Conservatory, earning his BA in music performance. He has performed with most of Puerto Rico’s major orchestras, as well as with smaller percussion, jazz, latin and rock ensembles. Well trained and experienced in orchestral percussion, drum set and world percussion, Andres is always eager to share his knowledge and passion for music and the percussive world.
Andres grew up in a warm, devout family. Both him and his siblings showed an inclination for music and arts. His brother focused on the guitar, and his sister was passionate about dance, specifically spanish flamenco. Soon after receiving his BA from the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music, Andres started working as a teacher and program coordinator at a youth orchestra outreach program aimed towards children from disadvantaged communities. While in the program, Andres got married and started a little family of his own.
In 2013, he relocated with his family to the beautiful Texas town of Georgetown, and has been teaching privately and in studios since. He and his lovely wife have two amazing kids: a handsome five-year-old percussionist-in-the-making, and a two-year-old princess. They all share a deep passion for music, homeschooling, tennis, and their fun family life.
